ADHD
ADHD. An emerging conversation on the metabolic spectrum.
The relationship between ADHD and metabolic health is an area of active research, not established consensus. What the evidence suggests is worth paying attention to.
Studies have documented associations between ADHD and insulin resistance, obesity, sleep disruption, and inflammatory markers. The dopamine pathways implicated in ADHD overlap with pathways affected by metabolic disruption. Nutritional factors (iron, zinc, omega-3 status) have shown associations with symptom severity in clinical trials.
We do not position ADHD as a metabolic condition. We do read the metabolic environment alongside the neurological picture, because when the metabolic picture improves, many members report improvements in focus, executive function, and emotional regulation that standard ADHD management does not address.
The spectrum does not wait for a diagnosis.
If you recognise yourself in any of these conditions, or in the spaces between them, the Metabolic Questionnaire is a good starting point. It is not a diagnosis. It is a structured way to map your symptoms and history so that the right conversation can follow.
