Insulin resistance

Insulin resistance. The metabolic root most clinicians catch too late.

Insulin resistance is a threshold problem. Cross it and the body stops hearing its own signals. Blood sugar stays elevated, fat storage shifts, inflammation rises, and a cascade of downstream effects begins, from weight gain to cardiovascular risk.

Most people learn about insulin resistance after a pre-diabetes or type 2 diabetes diagnosis. By then the spectrum has been running for years. We read insulin resistance early, through fasting insulin, HOMA-IR, triglyceride-to-HDL ratios, and clinical pattern recognition that goes beyond the standard HbA1c test.

If your blood sugar has been "borderline" for years and nobody has explained what that means metabolically, the spectrum is already in motion.

The spectrum does not wait for a diagnosis.

If you recognise yourself in any of these conditions, or in the spaces between them, the Metabolic Questionnaire is a good starting point. It is not a diagnosis. It is a structured way to map your symptoms and history so that the right conversation can follow.

Begin Your Assessment

The spectrum is already there. The question is whether anyone is reading it.

Your symptoms, energy, sleep, cravings, focus, recovery, and mood often tell a deeper story long before a diagnosis is made. Begin with the metabolic questionnaire and start seeing the patterns more clearly.
