Male hormone balance

Male hormone balance. Beyond the testosterone number.

A man walks into a clinic with low energy, reduced libido, increasing body fat, and poor mood. Total testosterone comes back "low normal." He is told he is fine, or he is handed a testosterone prescription without investigation.

The metabolic spectrum reads male hormones as part of a larger system: insulin resistance suppresses testosterone production. Visceral fat converts testosterone to oestradiol via aromatase. Chronic stress elevates cortisol at the expense of the androgen pathway. Sleep disruption reduces pulsatile GnRH release.

We measure total and free testosterone, SHBG, LH, FSH, oestradiol, prolactin, thyroid function, and cortisol alongside the metabolic markers that explain why the numbers are where they are. The framework addresses the metabolic root, not just the hormonal output.

The spectrum does not wait for a diagnosis.

If you recognise yourself in any of these conditions, or in the spaces between them, the Metabolic Questionnaire is a good starting point. It is not a diagnosis. It is a structured way to map your symptoms and history so that the right conversation can follow.

Begin Your Assessment

The spectrum is already there. The question is whether anyone is reading it.

Your symptoms, energy, sleep, cravings, focus, recovery, and mood often tell a deeper story long before a diagnosis is made. Begin with the metabolic questionnaire and start seeing the patterns more clearly.
